Founded in 1998 by Carlos Alexander, Michelle Campbell and Eric Barry, Tête-À-Tête Théâtre emerged from a vision to produce original, local plays. Our journey began with the groundbreaking sketch comedy, "The Five Foolish Friends in…Shhh…it happens" (2000). This production and its sequels earned critical acclaim and Cacique Awards, including "Most Outstanding Comedic Production."

We continued to push boundaries with the political musical, "The Catalyst" (2004), which garnered multiple Cacique Awards for its script, musical composition and production. Our commitment to original work stems from a desire to present our Trinbago voice to our Trinbago people.

2009 saw the company expanding into film with the comedic short, “Single’s Bar” at that year’s Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival.

We returned to the stage in 2010 with the acclaimed "Round the City" and later collaborated on "Better, Better Village" with Barataria based cultural group Bon Bassa, placing 2nd at that year’s Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition.

In 2019, we ventured into radio drama with the comedic series, “Tranquility" which aired on WACK Radio.

Returning to the big screen, in 2022 we entered the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival with the dramatic short film, “The Inner View” which was in competition for Best Trinidad and Tobago Film.

Though we've faced challenges, including the departure of founding member Michelle Campbell and the passing of Julien Austin Forsyth, we remain dedicated to producing innovative theatre. With Dean Rayside joining the team, we move forward, embracing new opportunities to elevate our artistic vision.
